Young people are at a double risk of unemployment.
Unemployment often results in social exclusion and poverty. In the European Union, young people are at the highest risk of social exclusion or poverty.
Directly addressing people aged 18 - 24 years, YES aims to tackle the sensitive issue of youth unemployment.

Rotary Showcase

The idea generated is to build a PLATFORM collecting activities for child and juveniles to explore their interest and capability strength through extracurricular activities, we named the PLATFORM as ZJS PLATFORM.

We built a website (screenshot homepage as following) for MVP test. We set primary functions in the MVP website, to learn customer needs.

The Rotary showcase conducted from January to February. 2022 during Chinese CNY period. 10 extracurricular activity providers registered on the platform, posted their activities for recruitment. 100 families participated during the period. We work with shopping malls on the venue based on features of the activities. The venue could attract families to participate on the one hand, and the participant families could also raise the public interest and awareness on child and juvenile non-academic capacity building on the other. As an outcome of the showcase event, we learnt about the top 3 interested capabilities for pre-school aged and school-aged children that parents cared about.

PR newswire reported the showcase events, receiving 126 pick-ups, 21921 release reviews and hits.

Implementaion of the Ideas

Our idea is to build a platform collecting activities for young people exploring their interest and capability strength. We built a website for MVP test. We included primary functions in the MVP website, to learn customer needs.

Large Scale Youth Events

Due to the COVID silent management policy, all the market events closed during April, May and June. 50% of the child and juvenile extracurricular activity providers had to close their business and dismiss the team.

The public shopping malls do not have consumers and their business declined dramatically.

Under such challenging situation, our idea of expanding the MVP result would be impossible.

When the silent management was over, and the market will resume gradually. We did a market need analysis with the following findings:

  • Public malls want to lease shop and also attract consumers.
  • The start-up teams have a high passion on reaching out to potential consumers for the purpose of testing their MVP.
  • The government has a high intention to pay for good and health events to help child and juveniles mobility.

Based on the market analysis, and after several rounds’ discussion with youth task team, rotary contact and other stakeholders, we adjusted the ZJS PLATFORM

The original design of the ZJS PLATFORM is the link between child and juvenile extracurricular activity providers and the families. Now we changed it to link between venue providers such as shopping malls and start up teams. The operation process works the same. The start up teams posted their events on the ZJS PLATFORM on the one hand, the shopping mall will announce the events in their channels. Government grants were used to identify good content, make good events happen and coordinate in a good way.

We did the large-scaled events during the National Holiday from Oct.5 to 7 in one of the shopping malls. 4 start-up teams brought their services and products serving 500 family participants.
